Launching the Kite:

Be sure that your launch partner is familiar with kite launching and has done so before. Have them hold the leading edge of the kite into the wind at the center of the kite and be sure that they are upwind enough to ensure proper safety and a smooth launch. Give them the thumbs up signal only after they have the kite in proper position. Check your lines before the thumbs up!!

Landing the Kite:

Be sure to land in a non-hazardous area. Always be aware of what is downwind. Give the universal “head pat” to signal a kite catcher. Be sure they catch the kite only by the leading
edge. Put sand on the kite after facing the leading edge into the wind and upside down on the beach.

Body Dragging:
(intentionally that is)

Make sure the area you will be dragging and practicing in has plenty of room downwind and that wind conditions are not too strong.

Low tide is best to keep out of trouble if you start to loose control.

This is your time to really focus on the power and control of the kite. Practice speeding up and slowing yourself down.... learning how the kite moves and what response it gives in terms of power.
