01.26.2006 --- A kiteboarding ban could be put into place in the Elkhorn Slough Area of California to protect the environment. The sport is now being studied by the Moss Landing Harbor District Board of Commissioners in relation to its impact on the environment. Kiteboarding is being accused of disturbing wildlife, and causing unsafe conditions for other recreation users. A potential ban would include the old channels of the Salinas River and anywhere that boats and jet skis are already outlawed.
